#NAIAS: SPIED Completely In The BUFF Before Its Detroit Debut — 2017 Ford Fusion Gets Some Nip/Tuck
Leading into the start of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) we've been hearing some rumblings of the debut of the 2017 Ford Fusion. Well, that should all go silent because a spy photographer has captured the 2017 model year product in the nude before its Motor City debut.

While the Fusion certainly has put some pep in Ford's step, we imagine the designers had a tough time figuring out what to revise.

It's clear though that the Fusion gets an all-new front end with a new front grille, front clip, new wheels and new rear taillights. Although this collection here does not feature interior shots, we're guessing it will be giving a little freshening up and we're assuming Sync 3.

In terms of powertrain offerings, I wouldn't expect drastic changes here except increases in power alongside greater efficiency. But, Ford may surprise us here.

The Ecoboost V6 will be an EASY sell. The nip/tuck is competent. There should be some good financing this summer for the inevitable sell down.

With this update, hands-down, best looking car in the segment. The main thing holding it back before was the rear taillight design which looked too Focus-like before. Now, they look appropriate for the class. The Mazda 6 is still pretty close, but knowing the Ford can be had with a more powerful drivetrain and AWD, makes it a better option.

Nice but the 6 is still the looker in the group. You are right about the power train.

So Ford is trying to morph the Fusion into a Tesla Model S
