#NAIAS: The SHOWSTOPPER? Lexus Rolls Out The LC 500 And Drops Everyone's Jaw — 001 Brings It To YOU Here!
The Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) is typically an event that is dominated by the Detroit Three — Ford, General Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). We're pretty sure that 2016 changed that.
If you walked the show floor this year you'd note that a ton of luxury automakers did not show up and the exotic manufacturers said "Forget about it." In addition, two of the three big domestics didn't blow anyone's doors off.

HERE!
So when Lexus pulled the wraps off of the all-new, production-ready LC 500 it nearly melted attendees' faces off. Yes, it's that good.
Painted a deep and dark red, it captures your attention as soon as your eyes meet its rather forward-thinking design. It's hard to believe this is a production-ready vehicle but that is exactly what Lexus is showing us in the Motor City.
And you haven't even seen its interior yet! I closely inspected the inside through the glass and it's a super impressive space. Hopefully, Lexus will open it up today and 001 can bring it to life so you can better understand what I mean.
For now see the LC 500 in ALL of its splendor and let us know what you think!

The Lexus LC500: Where Grotesque and Luxury Meet
It's yours to use, Lexus. No need to credit me for that.

Geek alert: Those aluminum accents reminds me of the scene in Wolverine Origins when Deathstryke dies by Wolverine plugging her up with molten adamantium and it oozes from her eyes.
Anyway, it's a stunning design, for 80% of it. That rear end wouldn't be a deal breaker for me despite its tragic appearance.
It's going to be interesting to see how this car performs. One of the pics in the original thread showed a pretty good amount of body lean for a car with (what appears to be) minimal wheel travel. And benchmarking the 6 Series and Maserati GT says it may be pretty heavy despite looking like it should be a fairly lightweight car.
Priced right, and this thing will

I thought that scene was from X2. In Origins he fights the worst version of Deadpool ever conceived, brought to life by the epic Scott Adkins.

It is different and unapologetically Lexus so I gave them credit for that.
And although it won’t drive/perform like a Porsche it will not break apart either.
My verdict: It will sell even in the small numbers that Lexus is expecting

Nice "Alice Cooper eyes" for front and rear lights.

Love the broad shoulder hind quarters! This will sell big time on Rodeo Drive, Shaker Heights, Greenwich, etc if not to well heeled financial and legal types then to their trophy wives!

Great looking overall!!! Personally I would get rid of the tear drops off the headlights and taillights, fix the Hoover grill and it would be 100%.

I love it. I realize that the looks can be polarizing but at least it's being unapologetic about what it is instead of trying to please everyone. Personally, I find it fresh and exciting in a way that Europe hasn't been for some time which has become a lot of more of the same.

I like it until they got to the rear. Add more traditional lights and it will be a winner.

Consider me polarized. Without the spear ornaments here and there, and a couple fewer creases, I suspect we might think the overall shape rather bland. I think it is the sense of ornamentation that is off-putting for me. I associate it with boy-racer SEMA tack-ons. For a car that is supposed to be fast, but not a track day car, I think I was expecting elegance, not spears pointing perpendicular to the body lines. I hope there is a market for it, but I'm not entirely sure who the target customer is.

To each his own. I love it! If I could afford one, I would be all over this like a Polaroid picture. How much?! Yep, I know. If I had to ask, I couldn't afford it. I can dream can't I?

Am I the only one who hates the current grille on all Lexus models? I can't even get past the grille to see anything else on the car.
