#NAIAS: Volvo's S90 Interior Is Going To Make You Question If Chinese Craftsmanship Has Already Made It Prime Time
It is becoming pretty clear that  Volvo is making big steps in targeting the Premium sector with both the XC90 SUV and S90 flagship premium sedan.  So much so, that we are beginning to wonder if it really matters if a Swedish pedigree is needed under Chinese ownership.

Wait, did I just say that?

It wasn’t that long ago we were laughing at the thought of a true Chinese luxury brand and here we are. It is amazing just how fast the Chinese have come up to speed in the automotive sector.

Feast your eyes on the images below and note the finer details.  This doesn’t seem like your garden variety knock off to us.  This look like the real deal here.  Dare I say Chinese craftsmanship? You be the judge on this one and tell us what you see.

The S90 is beautiful - it is a less expensive S-Class for all intents and purposes! Interior is nicer than the A8, LS460, and 750i.

Only negative - its a little small in the back seat and its a little short in length.

If Volvo offers a Long Wheelbase version, there will be many people who will buy one of these versus an LS, A8, or 750.

iPhones are made in China. Are they shoddily built? Entry-level Denon A/V receivers are made in China. Do they have substandard components or are they shoddily constructed?

The fact is that manufacturing in China is inconsistent from factory to factory. In many cases, their products are substandard, but as Apple and Denon and others have proven, you can also have world-class products come out of China.

Looks good except you can see the speakers through the grill. Fix that and you've nailed it.

The very expensive yellow kevlar speaker cones are visible on purpose. They are a distinctive feature of Bowers and Wilkins sound systems - some of the best in the world.
