RENDERED SPECULATION: Should Lincoln Build A Continental COUPE? What Say You, Spies?
At the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) there's no question that the 2017 Lincoln Continental was one of the stars of the show. Though we think Ford's luxury division should have somehow slotted it for a day one debut, we're sort of splitting hairs.

That's because the Continental made noise, regardless.

While we know the 2017 model year Continental will debut in the fall, we just caught a glimpse of this idea. To be honest, we're kind of thinking it may be a good one too.

Talented Photoshop imagineer, Theophilus Chin, has given birth to the Lincoln Continental Coupe. While there's absolutely ZERO rumors or spy photos to support this idea, it doesn't look like it'd be a bad one.

We'll keep you abreast if that changes but until then, we can dream.

So, what do YOU think, Spies? Should Lincoln build a Continental Coupe?

In *my* view, it looks very respectable as a coupe. Arguably more "right" than the actual sedan from which these images were inspired. Whomever did this rendering, I feel Lincoln should get their hands on him/her, and used their design sense!

Although I would not agree with a 2 door Continental being a Mark XXIV - but Lincoln - along with lots of other manufacturers - need to rediscover the larger Coupe segment. Bring Back Corinthian Leather too!

Let's hope they sell some sedans first before adding another piece of furniture to Lincoln showrooms to collect dust. I'd rather then offer more powerful engine options/drivetrains in the sedan first

Nice rendering but Lincoln isn't ready for that yet.

That would be what EXACTLY NOT to do. They should lengthen the Mustang's wheelbase and do a Lincoln Sentinel.

No, Lincoln should NOT build a coupe. Nobody will care.

However, Jaguar SHOULD DEFINITELY build an XJ coupe and cabriolet. A $100,000 Jag XJ Coupe/Cab would completely destroy Bentley and it would be beautiful to boot!

Will it look like a Merkur Scorpio revival too?

They forgot the faux spare tire trunk hump, vinyl top and opera window!

Luxo barge coupes in Tier 2 have no place in today's market. Sporty coupes or GT's is the way to go and the Continental platform isn't it.

If Lincoln had ANY savvy, they'd see the excitement surround the Avist, take the information that Buick has no intentions to build the Avista and run with it. Create a luxury-sport concept based on the Mustang platform, get that out at the next auto show or splash it on the pages of every publication. Then promise it for production. Shift the excitement people had over the Avista over to their brand and do it now. Make Buick look completely foolish for presenting a very appealing product with no promise for production.

Sorry for the horrific structure and typos of my post :-)

Love, Love, Love it... build it and I'll buy it. Its just the wife and me, do we need a 4 door? How many full sized coupes are there, the S Coupe, which is hideous and insanely over priced. In the words of Ben Stiller in "Starsky & Hutch"... "Do it.... Do it..... Do it!"
