2016 Jaguar F-Type SVR Images LEAK - Does 567 HP Leave You Impressed?

Details of the upcoming Jaguar F-Type SVR have been leaked onto the internet, confirming it will produce 567bhp and be good for a quoted 200mph top speed.

The information, which has been published on Dutch website Autovisie, was revealed by a German dealer who appears to have published a brochure prematurely. It includes full technical specifications and pictures of the hot new model, which is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming months and go on sale later this year.

Not really. To me the Jag is a direct competitor with Porsches and Vettes. At a certain point, once you get "extreme" enough, you are competing with... the top of the line Porsches and Vettes. So while the SVR might finally leave the Z51 in the dust, it's crushed by the Z06. Porsche is still more expensive and competes with the Jag on brand prestige as much as performance, and honestly it wins on both. The only thing the Jag has going for it is exclusivity but that's a side effect of being less desirable in the first place.

NOPE. The F-Type is terribly unrefined for the street. It's ride is harsh and jiggly. It's better at the track, but a Mustang 5.0 can kill it. The F-Type would have been brilliant at half the cost--WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AIMED FOR VOLUME--but at its price point, it's easily beaten for the same or less.

Dont know what roads you are driving on, but the F Type is not jiggly on roads. In Chicago, the F Type is far from jiggly and harsh and our streets suck. I think the F Type is the best value of any premium sports car. I would take it over any Porsche in the same price point. The Vettes fall apart and rattle after 1,000 miles. The mustang has zero refinement and overall fit and finish rears its ugly head after 1 year.
If that was my price point, the F Type is what I would get. I am a BMW fanboy and of course would take an M3 over anything, but the F Type is highly compelling.

best value of any premium sports car? You do realize that to get it to base Stingray level you have to spend 50% more for an equivalent F Type, right?

You do realize that for that price point the 911 obliterates it, right?

2ndbimmer,

Matt's right from my vantage point.

I drove this car and really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, the chassis needs a lot more work. Dropping more power in it will only make the driving experience worse.

It's price point would be fine if hey had refined everything. At least, I didn't have a problem with it, but not for the quality of the ride, brakes, steering and suspension...

The looks on the other hand are up there with the best of them. Something to go on.

My friend's 2008 Mustang has a supercharger on it production about 625 horsepower. The car is valued at about $18,000. and goes like stink.

A Mustang GT will beat an F Type V6 S but it will not beat an F Type R. Any Stingray will. The problem with the Stingray is I've heard some horror stories about it's reliability. EG-Interior smelling of glue and engines blowing up. Motor Trend had a disappointing experience with the Z06 in its annual "best handling sports car" test. For some reason the engine lost power blowing its time around Laguna Seca. GM products just give me a bad taste right now so I would have to stick with Ford if buying American. When the F Type came out it's handling was considered pretty good but the R was considered a natural "drift" car because it was so easy to get into that mode. I suspect Jaguar has improved the suspension on the SVR. I'm a little disappointed only 567 HP when the standard R is 550 HP. But anything that is engineered to do 200 MPH has to be worth something. However if you are really looking for bang for the buck and interior quality is not your top priority the ultimate 200 MPH steal has to be the Hellcat. Right!
