Friends Star Matt LeBlanc To Joins Top Gear As Host?

Ladies and gentlemen, please be upstanding for your new Top Gear host… Mr Matt LeBlanc!

Yes, the fastest-ever Star in a Reasonably Priced Car – he famously set an as-yet unbeaten lap time of 1m 42.1s in the Kia cee’d – will join Chris Evans when the new series premieres in May.

“As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter,” said Matt. “What a thrill!”

This show is turning into the terrible American version that ran on the History Channel.

Booooooooooo....
I actually liked the last History Channel version and would have kept watching if they had kept the time constant. But one week it came on at 7, 2 weeks later it was Thursday at 4. It was too much.

2015-2016 are years for the history books...(a) rise of Donald Trump; (b) Fall of Volkswagon in a silly, prevenatable scandal; (c) launch (if it could be called that) of Tesla's ridiculous Model X with 'FALCON DOORS'; (d) BBC fired Jeremy Clarkson for being a boob (which is what the 12+ year success of TopGear was mostly based on) and a sloppy angry person; and (e) the person hired by the BBC, Chris Evans, to replace Clarkson keeps getting car-sick and puking all over the test cars.

To top it all off, Matt LeBlanc, the has-been, sort-of star of Friends, a 20 year old, lame American TV show, will probably be joining TopGear.

For those among us who are religious I think all this strange news means judgment day is near! What a bizarre time we live in.

So they're going with a washed-up American TV star? Ditching Chris Evans and getting Gordon Ramsay and Simon Cowell would do the trick nicely.

Top Gear, as we have known it, is dead.

Joey is actually pretty good behind the wheel. I think he held the fastest non-professional time.

Besides, Top Gear fans watch Friends and why the hell not. LeBlanc is more of a car guy than 99.9999999% of automotive enthusiasts out there.
