RENDERED SPECULATION: IF The Mercedes-Benz E-Class COUPE Looks THIS Good, Would YOU Put One In Your Garage?

RENDERED SPECULATION: IF The Mercedes-Benz E-Class COUPE Looks THIS Good, Would YOU Put One In Your Garage?
I sound like a broken record at this point, but it is what it is. Mercedes-Benz has dropped some truly staggering products on us as of late and at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) the latest was the all-new E-Class. The all-new E is expected to take the brand another step further into uncharted territory with the more autonomous features.

Soon after the show we noticed that the company's upcoming E-Class Coupe started making appearances during testing.

You can see the all-new E-Class Coupe here and spied in action here.

But, it's obviously camouflaged pretty well. While we think we have an idea of what it will look like given the E-Class sedan and how the coupe appears to be following in the footsteps of the S-Class Coupe and C-Class Coupe, we wanted to point you in the direction of this all-new rendering. That's because we think it's a pretty accurate take on the E-Class Coupe, granted it's in the early stages of testing.

So, what do you think, Spies? Is this render doing the trick for you or are you expecting something else?

"C Class coupe...this car is too small. S Class coupe...this car is too big. E Class coupe...this car is just right."...Goldilocks

This car will be in an interesting position. Mercedes needs to move it upmarket to go head to head with the 6 Series and create some distance from the C-Coupe (and the S5 and 435i). The true AMG version (not the AMG Sport version) will encroach into territory where the Maserati GT currently resides, and possibly where the LC500 may come to play. So, it's going to be up against some seriously sexy and hot-styled cars. It needs to have tons more road presence than the current model.

I am glad Goldilocks can tell them apart, I sure as hell couldn't...

I generally find Mercedes' sedans to look better than their coupes. Mercedes adores the saggy diaper trunk look and the lower edge of the DLO rises from the leading edge, bows up in the middle, and then falls instead of being a straight line which would look better. Their coupes/coupesedans seem to exacerbate what's off with their styling language. Mercedes wins stylistically overall vis a vis BMW and Audi.

I will take almost any Mercedes YOU want to give me and put it in my garage. - but I will DRIVE my S-600 out of my garage. These "coupes" are incredibly expensive for what you get. May as well buy a real S-class instead.

I have to agree with cidflekken. I've recently moved from a 2013 6-Cabrio to a 2016 E-Cabrio, solely because the lease deals on the 6 have literally doubled from when I first got the car. While the E is more luxurious, it's not nearly as sporty and lacks a bit of the panache of a 6. I wish Benz had a cabrio somewhere between the E and S's.
