While The BBC's All-New Top Gear Settles Its Cast, The Ex Top Gear Hosts Start Filming For Amazon
This week was a big one for automotive programming. While the BBC's all-new incarnation of Top Gear has been going quite, well, badly, all eyes are now turning to the all-new Amazon show featuring former Top Gear hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. That's because this to be named show is expected to be the benchmark.

The rest? Well, let's put it this way: We have yet to see ONE great automotive program that's informative yet entertaining. No one puts together a show like the trio though I will admit it became more of a comedy show in its latter years.

The Amazon program featuring the three boys started filming this week in London. Although one would have expected to see all three gents lined up in a challenge, it was just Hammond piloting a Ford Mustang GT through London.

Whatever the case, we're excited to see what the ex Top Gear team churns out. Clarkson and Andy Wilman are, frankly, talented and Hammond and May are excellent complements to Clarkson's character. Cheers!

Top Gear was definitely the standard, and I'm sure Jeremy, Richard, and James will be able to find the same success at amazon.

I also enjoy Chris Harris SOLO.

Fifth Gear, not so much, always thought the cast tried too hard.

Motorweek is great for straight forward, every day reviews, and I've always been a fan of their 0-60, 1/4 mile, and slalom testing of every vehicle they review from minivans to performance sedans.

I've always held Chris Harris a notch above the Top Gear crew. Fifth Gear isn't terrible, but Jonny Smith has got to go. I find him absolutely intolerable. Tom Ford was worlds better than Smith, and that's a huge stretch.
