BMW M2 OVERLOAD: Agent 001 Details The All-New M2 INSIDE And OUT From The California Launch
Following up on the very impressive BMW 1M is going to be a tough act. The reality is that the 1M was an incredible vehicle and widely regarded as one of the best modern BMW's in recent memory.

That's why they're still selling over the 1M's original price. Oh, and there's only 739 units for public consumption in the US.

But, now there's an all-new sheriff in town. That would be the all-new M2. With more power, a tighter design and new technology to help it get around a track faster — cough, dual-clutch gearbox, cough — it's certainly going to be a compelling offering.

As noted in a previous thread, Agent 001 spent some time this week driving it and while BMW has an embargo on driving impressions, it did say we could share with you our photos. Given 001's talent, it's easy to see why. ;)

So, check out the all-new M2 like you haven't seen it before via 001's shots, below!

Not enough photos.

I was expecting 15 identical shots of every angle and many more insanely ridiculous close ups. Perhaps Agent00R doesn't know that you don't have to press and hold the shutter release. You can actually take one picture at a time. No disparagement to OOR's photographic skills, but these are snapshots documenting the car not fine photography so side, nose, tail, and interior would have sufficed.

I co-own dealerships. I don't sell cars directly. The point remains that I was not the only one to point out the silliness of having 5 side shots (et. al.) when one good one would have sufficed. It's called editing. Two people gave you a critique. Consider it.

Sarcasm?

Maybe I'm getting old but that interior is as bland as bland can be.

BMW is way off game. They lack vision at this point. They are making new cars that ate virtually indistinguishable to the cars they replace. Their new cars look 5-10 years old.

The 2 Series is a pointless product. It is completely eclipsed by the 4 Series which is not that more expensive. Buying a 2 Series says that you really wanted a 4 Series but that you cant afford it.

I commented elsewhere that they should have made the 2 Series a fastback with an affordable V8 option. My point was that the Mustang/Camaro segment is lucrative. I'd turn the 2 Series into a "Mustang" with a turbo 4 for $27.5K base and a naturally aspirated V8 for $37.5K base.

That would give the 2 Series a purpose for existing that it currently lacks.

@runbuh check your facts first. Sales of the 2 Series are DISMAL.

@runbuh nice try, but your voodoo statistics made you look silly. If I sold one car last year and sold two this year I had a 100% increase in sales. Yes the % looks amazing but the volume is not.

The point is that the M2 could have been aimed differently and could have sold 10K units instead of less than 800.

Hey, guys.

There hasn't been any announcement into production figures for the M2 as far as I know.

The 739 units was referencing the 1M.

From my perspective, I was not a fan of the Bangle years but the cars always had something intriguing to look at.

Now, I have yet to look at a BMW with interest. And this M2 is perhaps the worst of the lot.

Just my $0.02.

Mdarringer , sometimes you make valid points , sometimes you're completely off. i think you're off on this one.
my friend and i got the 4 and 2 series. when he drove my m235i he liked it more than his. he said its basically a faster version of his 4 series.
i didn't get the 4, not because the price bothered me, i just wanted a small fast car and the 235 fit my needs.

on to the actual M2 though, there are a few issues that bother me. 1- it has an N55 motor ( same as the m235i ) I'm very disappointed that it isn't a detuned S65 motor like the m4, its like they added a dinan chip to the 235i for extra hp .
2, i don't like that you can't get a carbon fiber roof on this m2
3, only one interior color .

I'm sure the m2 will be near the m4 but with those few things that bother me, ill most likely get an M4 this spring.
