IF You Were Getting A BMW M Car, Would YOU Get A UNIQUE Color Or Would You Wimp Out?
Here's the thing about getting a BMW M car: They come in special colors. While BMW typically makes sure every M vehicle has a palette of standard colors you can find on any other BMW — e.g., Alpine White — the Bavarians have also been sure to offer each M car with a specific palette you cannot find on its standard vehicles.

With the BMW M3 and M4 there's Austin Yellow — pictured. The M6 has San Marino Blue, which is a brilliant blue hue. The X5M and X6M, and now M2, offer Long Beach Blue.

That said, we were just a wee bit curious: IF you were going to pick up an all-new BMW M car, would you opt for the bold and exclusive color, OR would you wimp out and go for a standard colored M car?

What say you, Spies?

"Different for the sake of different" doesn't do it for me. I go for what I like, regardless if it's a "special" color or a stock one. Frankly, BMW's special M colors haven't inspired me, especially the flat ones.

Wimp out = having some class.

I like non-metallic black cars. So, much like Steve likes what he likes, that's always what I get. Have been since the early 90's. Therefore, if black was a special color - it was for example on my 991 RS - then yes, I'd pay for a special color.

But I don't think that's exactly what you're asking. So no, I'd wimp-out in the case of BMW. (I must admit that someone at the office has a matte blue that's quite attractive... Stranger things have happened.)

I think most of the "special" colors are garish and hideous. So yes, I'd wimp out and get a black or white or silver one.

I like my cars blue or black. I most decidedly would not want some trendy, blingy, Kardashian, color-of-the-latest-fad shade.

I take delivery of a Leguna Seca blue M3 in three weeks. So yes, I would get a unique color.

Unique color like Competition Orange for 001. It's an 'M' car and it should SCREAM it! :)

TVRs should be garish, shouty things, but not BMWs. :)

I don't mind the unique colors. There are tons of M4's and M3's around me and about 50% of them are of the exclusive color variety. I like them, but I also like the more traditional colors. Color choice has nothing to do with class/no class. It has to do each person's personal preference, which is none of my business.

Personally, I love the new BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue as well as Atlantis Blue.

Imola Red - M5
Interlagos blue or san marino blue - M3
Java Green Metallic - M6 gran coupe
Fire Orange - M3
Purple Silk - M3 with Dove Grey interior

No, I would not wimp out. Its relative to the vehicle if the color will look good.

Tanzanite blue in person is a beautiful color.

Wilder (within reason) the color, the better!
