2007 Expedition EL Beats 2007 Suburban (Again)

First there was the Wall Street Journal which picked the 2007 Expedition EL over the Suburban:

Now, Motor Trend follows with a similar comparison with the same conclusion.

Selected as #1 was the 2007 Expedition EL which Motor Trends says:

Expedition "simply beats a comparable Suburban at its own game"

"EL wins in price, performance, and interior trim/features/space utilization"

Ford seems to have done a great job with refresh of the Expedition. I wasn't expecting it to do well in the reviews, but every review I've read so far comments on how quiet, comfortable and well handling the vehicle is.

That is true. An Expedition is the size of a Tahoe and the ginorous dinosaur Excursion(now extinct) was in the Suburban class. And how does fuel economy stack up. Next they will put an Escape up against a Suburban. Also, European and European lovers are just jealous because we live in a country that can actually support anything over the size of a Smart.

I can't comment on the '07 Expedition but I do have about 6,000 miles on my '07 Suburban LTZ and so far so good. The fit, finish, and ride are way beyond previous models, including past Expeditions.

As the title says, this was a test of the Expedition EL (the new stretched Expedition) vs the Suburban.

These two vehicles are in the same class, in fact the Expedition weighs more.

The Expedition EL beat the Suburban in MPG.

hahaha actually the EL and Suburban are the same size.

The comparison of the Tahoe and standard Expedition, revealed the same performance gap, with the Expedition beating in the Tahoe.
