#GIMS: Impressed With The Lexus LC500? Meet Its Sibling, The LC500h
One of my favorite cars at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) was the all-new, prodcution-ready Lexus LC500. The L brand car just looks exquisite in real life and, honestly, it's hard for me to believe it's a production-ready automobile.

It looks like a concept.

But it's the real deal. To complement the LC500 that is equipped with an RC F engine will be a hybrid variant. Dubbed the LC500h, it will be a greener approach to a high-end, luxury coupe.

According to the latest, the LC500h will produce a total system output of 354 horsepower and hit 60 mph in under five seconds. Keep in mind the standard LC500 hits 60 in 4.5 seconds, so, there will not be a dramatic difference here. What makes the hybrid variant a bit kooky is that it will feature a four-speed automatic gearbox that's paired up with an eCVT. It's a very complicated situation here and a bit hard to explain at the moment. From what we've heard, it is essentially a 10-speed automatic because both the traditional four-speed 'box and eCVT because both systems are always engaged.

Check out the LC500h, below, and let us know what you think: Would you rather have the LC500 or LC500h?

Beautiful car! Lexus is on a roll...

As I see it, the front end is gagworthy, in true Lexus form, and the rear isn't much better, but aside from that, I like the exterior styling. The dashboard reminds me of American Luxucruiser styling, though. I imagine the rear seats aren't suitable for humans of greater than Oompa Loompa proportions.

The styling of this car has already worn off on me. Yes, it was outright sensational at introduction, but just like anything tacky and trendy, it wears off quickly.

Ever notice the rear taillight design is almost exactly the same design as Optimus Prime's eyes in the Transformer movies? I can't find a pic to compare, but I was watching the first Transformer movie the other night and realized where Lexus must have gotten their inspiration. I find that a bit ironic since Hyundai seems to have taken inspiration from the Transformer logos for their center console/stack designs in their previous generation cars.

I love the RC F design and like the LC500 even more. The car is winning design awards and will continue.

Lexus is on a roll, but the designs are not for everyone--they are definitely for me.

The LC500 will be a rare appearance on the road given the price tag. Exclusivity + performance + edgy design = a must buy for me.

Imagine my RCF 476 HP engine in this car with the torque vectoring rear--awesome!

One will be taking up space in my garage come late 2018.
