Tesla CEO And Other Tech Leaders Secretly Meet With Republican Establishment To Stop Trump

Billionaires, tech CEOs and top members of the Republican establishment flew to a private island resort off the coast of Georgia this weekend for the American Enterprise Institute's annual World Forum, according to sources familiar with the secretive gathering.

The main topic at the closed-to-the-press confab? How to stop Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google co-founder Larry Page, Napster creator and Facebook investor Sean Parker, and Tesla Motors and SpaceX honcho Elon Musk all attended. So did Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), political guru Karl Rove, House Speaker Paul Ryan, GOP Sens. Tom Cotton (Ark.), Cory Gardner (Colo.), Tim Scott (S.C.), Rob Portman (Ohio) and Ben Sasse (Neb.), who recently made news by saying he "cannot support Donald Trump."

They have a huge problem. If they fail to nominate him he will run independent and split the vote. If they keep him, how do they control him?

They are really scared that he will change the game and take away their honey pot. No more influence pedaling might cause them to actually have to work harder...what a shame that would be!

They wouldn't be so for the Democrats higher taxation if they already didn't have a loophole. It sounds great to tax the rich, but they are rich for a reason. They know the loopholes.

Why are you ripping on these CEOs? Aren't these CEOs and companies the epitome of how great the free market system is? The innovation, the provider of what the country want/need, the solution to the inefficient and out of touch government? Is Trump better than all of them combined?

The fear is real change my friend, and Trump might force real change and there is no prediction on how that will go.

He is the true wild card in the mix and no one know how to handle that.

No 009. The fear is electing an ignorant bigoted demagogue to the most powerful office in the world.

I'm not necessarily a Trump person and there are things I'd change starting with the hair, but the American people are furious the nation is being destroyed. Open borders mean millions of new people that do not share a love of country, have no skills and can contribute little and are imply here to benefit from the taxpayers. Taxpayers are furious the govt has us $20T in debt and its never enough and this admin wastes our work, our resources then tells us we're the problem and we're not paying our fair share. America is not Europe and not Socialist yet the handouts never stop and the debt to pay for the handouts is nearly crippling. Trump is pure grass roots and although I have a candidate I prefer Trump is articulating what millions are feeling. Matt you disappoint me, and runningidiotlogan1 you express what we've had for 7+ yrs. These industry "leaders" have their own agendas and are seeking to advance them, I have no respect for any of them for those reasons. "Make America Great Again" -vs- "Hype and Change" you didn't want or ask for, but is being forced down your throats", Multi-Millionaire from influence peddling Mrs Clinton and that pathetic, narcissist, degenerate husband or a geriatric socialist bum? Please... with the "change" we've been subjected too over the last 7+ vs Trump well that explains why he is where he is...
