USA to get India-made Ford EcoSport in 2017 – Report
The Ford EcoSport has long been rumoured to be heading to North America. Spy shots emerged of engineering mules being road-tested on U.S. soil a month after it was launched in the first market (Brazil). The car was spotted in the country again in December last year and that once again fueled U.S. launch speculations.

Now, a new report says that the Ford EcoSport will be launched in North America in 2017. While speculations, logically, were that the North American version will be made in Brazil, the report says that the North American-spec Ford EcoSport will be made by the company’s Indian subsidiary. The plant in Chennai currently exports EcoSport to countries in Asia, Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Europe.

You would think that they would run out of ideas on how to make Ugly cars, yet they continue to out-do each other, by copying each other

Excellent idea ! What North American needs is an attractive and ecomonic small suv like the Ecosport. I'm sure Ford will fine tune it for the NA market but the cheap critics in the peanut gallery will always try to put Ford down. Keep up the good work Ford and hurry up and get it to Canada and the USA !

The plan is for the Ecosport to completely supplant the Fiesta which raises the notion of an Ecosport ST. The Fiesta is set to sunset because while it sells, Ford wants more than 72K sales in the B segment.
