#NYIAS: The Agents CRASH The Party Early With The FIRST Real-Life Pics From The Show's Kickoff Event!
Though the 2016 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) doesn't start until first thing Wednesday, the Big Apple is already bumping. That's because tonight marked the very first event for one of the year's biggest shows. The first to get the jump on everyone else? That would be Lincoln, my friends.

And, boy, they have some news to report.

2016 New York Auto Show

While we'd love to tell you about something we saw tonight, we can't. We signed our lives away. Someone at my table said they swore they saw something about their first born in the contract we all had to put our John Hancock on before entering the room.

*Make sure to check back on March 23 at 12:01 a.m. ET when the embargo breaks. We're going to have something you're NOT going to want to miss!

What we can show you though is Lincoln's presentation discussing what I think can best be categorized as a changing of the guard. We're all familiar with the Lincoln of the 2000s, which was rather dull and uneventful, and Ford is doing what it can to turn the ship around.

With the MKC, the company's entry-level sport-utility vehicle, it saw 88 percent year-over-year growth from 2014. The all-new MKX has been "going gangbusters," according to Lincoln's President, Kumar Galhotra. Finally, the all-new Continental is making BIG noise: 30,000 buyers have expressed interest in the yet-to-be-released luxury sedan.

*Stay tuned to AutoSpies.com for the latest, breaking news from NYIAS!

It is already 10 months since the introduction of the first concept Continental - and the car is already beginning to look old. THe addition of the Continental Grill to the MKZ - does not help that car that much.

However - the CONTINENTAL will be coming on market clearly much less expensive than the CT6 - and will be directly targeting the E/5/A6 group. We still do not know what the base engine will be at the low price though.

If the MKZ's average age is 57, logic would suggest the Continentals higher price tag would drive the average age even higher. Grandpas will love this car. Great alternative to Buick.

Would like new look much better if grill more stand up straight or slanted forward rather than backwards. Up right more stately, slanted forward more aggressive. Production angle of grill doesn't pop.

The interest in the Continental is off the charts. People want this car. Meanwhile, people are not lining up for the CT6.

Who exactly is "lining up" for the Continental, MDarringer?

Why do the front grilles of the MKZ and Continental look like they have a hole in them? I think its for the camera, but looks like bad design execution
