Hatchback Version Of BMW's 3 Series Nabbed Making Mincemeat Of Nürburgring
BMW has already added a handful of new features to its facelifted 3 Series saloon, but now the brand is preparing updates for the more practical hatchbacked 3 Series GT model as well.

As with the saloon, there will be a wider look thanks to larger air intakes and new LED daytime running lights. New light designs and twin tailpipes are the main changes at the back. The new iDrive system will be the main change inside, as well as a set of improved materials to increase the upmarket feel.

Mincemeat? Nürburgring? Wouldn't that make it a Nürburger?

BMW should produce a version of this LWB 3-series as the US 3-series estate wagon (which is based on the Chinese market LWB 3-series). It would have a ton of room and they could price it to compete with the MB E350 estate. It would be much more practical than the current (i.e. small) 328 estate and they could price the larger one much higher. It would have a huge profit margin since its based on the 3-series cost structure. It would eliminate the need for the 5-series wagon which can't be priced right for the US market.

Then they could eliminate this stupid hatchback.
