not as nice as i thought

What do you mean, take a look at all of the pictures. Extemely high quality materials and fabrication.

i like the lights, i also like the pic of the front trunk, they just packed as much stuff as they could in that small space

Last time I saw a paint patch like that was on the door of a police car. C'mon, is this how bored stylists are with their craft, that they have to resort to random masking and painting body panels? If I had one I'd take it down to the body shop real fast to finish the paint job.

It isn't painted, I am sure that is real carbon fiber. I might be wrong, but it definately looks really good. Some of the most expensive cars feature two tone paint schemes. The Bugatti Veyron and the Maybach.

The car is actually hotter than I thought it would be, I especially like the cool LED's and low profile of this car. That said I still have a few issues with thet overall design.

1. It looks a little bit to much like a larger TT.

2. The front end sort of resembles Mitsubishi & looks rather Japanese apposed to German.

3. Instead of looking classy it looks like a spaceship.

4. Multi-couloured body-panels are killing me.

& 5. If the black fins underneath the head & taillights are plastic...That just does it in my books.

One word the MOST OVER-HYPED CAR for sometime now.

But it doesn't live upto the hype.Not in Performance nor in design.

BTW a good Sports car.A good addition to the AUDI FAMILY.

is relatively a heavy,econmical,4 door saloon.
2)Looks like Mitsubishi from front.Exo X
3)That Blade thing.
4)Cheap looking,poorly designed Rims.
5)A Over done car.Overly designed,that it looks like a spaceship.Agree with MunichROB

So there is no way the upcoming V10 can do 0-60 under 4.0 seconds as claimed by many Audi Fans.
Most probably 4.2-4.3 seconds.

And no way it can touch Gallrdo.

Jugnu, the Gallardo is now at 600 horsepower. The V10 R8 will come in with 500 horsepower. If this thing (V8) can do 0-60 in 4.0 flat to 4.1 because the RS4 can do it in 4.3, and we know this will be quicker, the V10 WILL 100% guaranteed clear 4.0 seconds.

This thing is not doing 0-60 in 40-4.1 sec.What happened to u.Audi's official announcement was 0-60 in 4.6 seconds for the R8 V8.

According to this,The upcoming V10 R8 most probably will only be able to do it in 4.2-4.3 sec.

You can keep believing manufactured estimated times. I will believe what car magazines such as Car and Driver & Road & Track state.

I don't believe what manufacturers write so they don't get sued. I believe what magazines say.

The RS4 @ about 4,000 pounds gets to 60 in 4.3 seconds, Audi rates it @ 4.8. The R8 @ about 3,500 pounds fueled and ready to go is rated by Audi @ 4.6 (0-62) I think it will easily do o-60 in 4.0 seconds.

1. Audi ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS, underestimates their 0-60 times-- and I mean by a lot. The RS4 was quoted at 4.8 seconds, and it's reached a low of 4.3 seconds. Which means the R8 has the possibility to at least reach 4.1 seconds with the same V8 engine.

2. Audi had the big grille several years before Mitsubishi copied it; the LeMans concept was also out a long time before the 2006 Evo X (LeMans was from 2003 Frankfurt Show).

3. "That Blade Thing"? That's pretty immature. By the way, you can get that "blade thing" body-colored-- I configured one on the R8 microsite.

4. Cheap-looking, poorly designed? That's pretty subjective. These wheels look sweet to me- a lot like the 911 Turbo rims.

5. "A Over done car.Overly designed,that it looks like a spaceship." I think Lexuses are very underwhelming, blandly-designed cars. They convey no sense of elegance or agression. This is called a sports car; Lexus has never made one, so I know you're not used to seeing them.

WHY AUDI would underestimate or degrade the performance of their FLagship model???

R8 is only capable of 0-62 in 4.6 seconds,and this is not from me But AUDI.

And don't tell me that AUDI didn't tested the NEW R8 to get the real numbers,A manufacture test there OWN CAR more than anyone in the WORLD.
And they have much better technology and drivers to get the highest performance figures.

BTW,this the first time u AUDI guys are not with AUDI,not believing/agreeing with them.
Why because R8 didn't came out as u expected???

Ugly as sin. I am pretty suprised because Audi's are usually very nice looking cars in the Bauhaus kind of way. Are the stylists talking with Bangle because this kind of reminds me of his handiwork. Lines that go nowhere, etc... And that ugly patch in the middle of the car - its carbon fiber? Who cares. Just what were they thinking about...
