#NYIAS: The Audi R8 Spyder Is HERE And It's As Bright As The Sun — What Do You Make Of It In These REAL-LIFE Shots?
The all-new Audi R8 has been given quite a bit of grief since it was unveiled. They're just arriving stateside now so time will tell if owners are just as happy as they were with the first-gen car. The good news is this, however: Audi isn't done showing us what it has up its sleeve.

We're awaiting more R8 variants. The latest to debut for the world at the 2016 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) is the all-new R8 Spyder.

Much like the coupe, we're only seeing this equipped with a V10 motor.

Taking a lesson from its first-gen sibling, the R8 Spyder features a relatively flat rear deck that's adorned by louvers as well as carbon fiber-trimmed venting to help cool then engine. What makes this R8 Spyder stand out from the crowd is its bright yellow paintwork, the first of its kind we've seen with the second-gen R8.

For us, we're happy to see the four rings step out of its 50 Shades of Gray comfort zone.

That said, what do you make of the all-new R8 Spyder? Is it doing the trick for you or are you finding it hard to swallow?

This is an old gay man's car and I know several that would love this crap storm of nothingness.

What does one's sexual orientation have to do with the car? Pretty much zippo.

Chill with that, Matt.

I know many gay men who are car hounds. The car world is replete with gay men. So instead of telling me to button it. Maybe YOU need to realize that you're in a bubble.

He swings both ways, he first truth Matt has ever spoken. He stated many times that two old grandpas pulled down Andrew Christians and pounded him relentlessly in exchange for financial favors, apparently including Andrew Christians.

Cat fight!!! Lol
Seriously though, the new R8 doesn't break any new ground. It doesn't look as good as the 1st one. It may be faster and what not but nobody is tracking them, most of them are boulevard cruisers. The old one looks like it will cruise the streets better than the new one.

Appearance wise, I very much prefer the R8 from a few years ago. This "TT's Brother" design leaves me cold.

Lmao. Don't knock MDarringer for his opinion. We've all heard plenty of people call vehicles like Escalades ghetto and how they picture some big black drug dealer or Italian mafia meathead driving it, but mention anything stereotypical about gays and everyone's all up in arms. We could all walk around that auto show with any famous comedian and they could say the same thing MDarringer said and we would all laugh our asses off. That was a good one MDarringer. I can totally see it.

While occasionally photos are deceiving, I just can't get beyond the enormous grill and front end chunkiness.

I really don't like it. I have seen the coupe in person, it doesn't do it for me. The last one had more personality in the flesh. I'm hoping the next RS5 will be the Audi coupe to have....

BTW, the Audi A5 from about 2012 looks spot on. Over the years that followed, it evolved into a much less appealing form. Based on pictures alone, the 2017 A5 looks like it got its mojo back. I hope the R8 gets its appearance-mojo back someday.
