#NYIAS: The All-New Kia Cadenza Looks AWFULLY European — Are YOU Liking What Kia Did Here?
Peter Schreyer's work at Kia has been outstanding to watch. That's because the designer's work has helped transform the brand into something we never thought imaginable.
What was a brand known for goofy and, frankly, ugly automobiles is now a company spitting out European-inspired vehicles that are quite good looking.
2016 New York Auto Show
At the 2016 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) we saw the debut of the all-new Kia Cadenza. Think of this as the Hyundai Genesis' sister car with a more European feel.
Featuring a front grille that's reminiscent of the Maserati Gran Turismo and the "ice cube" foglights, it certainly makes an impression.
But before we weigh in, we're just a bit curious:
What do YOU think of the Kia Cadenza's all-new look?

I have liked Kia designs in the past, especially the Telluride concept, but I'm not feeling this one. It does nothing to really stand out as a premium sedan.

Could it be because it's near-premium at best?

Sory - but just when Kia cars were becoming interesting and actually good looking vehicles- they then go really conservative and produce a plain vanilla car that is simply BLAH.Thankfully - they sell very few cars in this segment - because this rehash will not improve that.

It should have been their Genesis "ES".

Title: "...Looks AWFULLY European..."
Really? Looks pure Asian to me. Not caring for the styling at all.

Looks like the Korean Germans finally said F'it and copied BMW's quad ring headlights. BMW just got put on notice I presume.

Looks like the Volvo X90's fraternal twin.

There's something to Kias that makes them look HEAVY. I think it's the very large panels. This has been a trend for cars for quite some time and may have to do with crash safety or something. But it definitely adds visual weight to cars, and with Kias it's more pronounced than with some others.

The shape of the LED daytime lights look outright stupid. Just like the brake lights on the new Prius. Absolutely hideous.

I mean, look at this ridiculous sh*t that I'll have to see on the road all the time. Toyota/Lexus, please just go away with your tacky designs. And now Kia.
