CAR WARS! Sibling Rivalry: In Terms Of DESIGN, Does The Toyota Prius Prime Completely IMPROVE Upon The Standard Prius?
One of the more peculiar happenings at the 2016 New York Auto Show wasn't the debut of milquetoast Subaru Impreza. It was actually the debut of an all-new Toyota Prius.

Called the Prius Prime, it's just a plug-in hybrid version of the standard Prius.

So, what's all the fuss about, right? Well, there's a lot, actually. That's because Toyota decided to really differentiate the Prius Prime from the standard car. It did so the best way it knows how. Through design.

Not only did the Prius Prime get all-new sheetmetal that makes for an all-new front facade and all-new ass end, it also received a revised interior. That's where the huge infotainment screen resides.

This begs the question: Does the Prius Prime COMPLETELY IMPROVE upon the standard Prius from a design perspective? Or, are you NOT impressed with the Prime's updated look?

What say you, Spies?

I shudder to imagine what the new Prius V will look like.

Toyota has taken ugly to a whole new level with this car. I wonder if that makes a difference to Prius fans.

Love the new Prius Prime over the regular Prius. Would i buy a Tesla...HELL NO!

Tesla is another POS from a company with funny math and spotty reliability.

These eyesores shouldn't even be allowed on the road. Talk about distracting other drivers!

@TheSteve @Dexter1 some fanboy who receives checks down voted all three of us. Perhaps you both are approaching the sheer level of fervent attention that my post elicit. :)

Allow me to pile on: The grotesque, convoluted styling of these visual abortions is one thing. Those people who actually find them appealing enough buy or lease them takes the WTF factor thru the roof. I mean, really—WHAT THE FU*K?

I love this, I absolute love your comments. I can practically taste your bitterness and frustration. Just let it out, air it out, it relieves your stress; well, that's what they say you should do anyway. What do we stupid people with bad taste know.

Suppose you tell us. I've always been amused by stupid people with bad taste. LOL

It is about expanding the brand with unique models. I suspect you need to see the Prime in person, 2D photos does not do it justice. Next model for this platform likely will be the Camry 2017 with more mainstream styling. I do think the Primes center console could make it into the std Prius mid-cycle.

MDarringer - let's be honest, you are not "amused" by stupid people with bad taste, you are "bitter" about there are MORE stupid people with bad taste with good money that buys Prius and Tesla than smart people with good taste that buy your Hyundai and Lincoln. Why don't you sell TVRs, that ought to increase your sales volume. Let me know you sell 10,000 TVRs and I'll sleep in peace for you.

I actually have sold some TVRs in the USA as track cars. Want a Sagaris with an LS7? Tuscan? Tasmin Ecoboost?

I completely enjoyed my 289 Griffith today by the way. Glorious day here in Californication.

As for me being bitter...hardly!

I do enjoy baiting the hook and seeing how many eager fish are willing to bite.

I am only interested in making money and I couldn't care less whether or not I believe in the brand.

If I could make big money invested in a VW dealer, I be on it, but in a VW/Audi/Porsche franchise, VW bleeds money, Porsche makes big profits but the volume is tiny, which leaves Audi--which make a profit--but it's highly incentivized so the profit is soft. I was slightly ahead financially in that franchise but way more ahead selling out.

I am completely amused by stupid people and or ones with bad taste. The former don't know they are, but when they are outted, they get angry and spew. The latter are great for making cash...just pile on more bad taste and watch the bottom go ca ching.
