CONFIRMED! Aston Martin Has Well Over 1,000 Pre-Orders For Its All-New GT Car, The DB11
As I've been following the development and launch of Aston Martin's all-new grand touring car, the DB11, I've been beating the same drum for some time: this vehicle is a big deal for the storied British marque because it represents a paradigm shift.

While it may feature Mercedes-Benz electronics and, also, a Mercedes-AMG V12 engine, it seems that the Aston may also represent a change in another area. Sales.

According to the company's CEO, Andy Palmer, the company has 1,400 pre-orders for the all-new DB11.

Considering the company typically moves about 4,000 units in total, that's a HUGE number of pre-orders. Especially when you realize all of the information on the DB11 has yet to be released.

...While in Melbourne for last week’s Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer spoke with TMR about the initial response to the new DB11.

“It’s been phenomenal,” Dr Palmer said.

“I think we’re at more than 1400 orders now, which is great for a car that we’ve not really released the whole details about, and isn’t available to be purchased until September, so yeah, fantastic.”

Its an awesome vehicle. I saw it in person three weeks ago in NY when the one demo in the US was making the VIP dealer preview rounds to select dealers. It is a gorgeous car, in and out, and worth every penny. For an exotic its also priced very well - around $210,000. Not that people in this segment are value conscious but when compared to the Ferrari's, Lambo's, McLaren's, and Bentley's it is priced very aggressively.

If you want one, get on the list - it is a crazy fast car but with beautiful interior and exterior detailing that rivals Rolls and Bentley. I'm a Volante customer and when that version comes out, we are on the list.

Just gorgeous.

The design is up to you, but this car as well as the Vantage really need to sell well for Aston Martin. The goal is not 4,000 cars a year, but to get back to 2006/2007 numbers of 7,000 cars like Ferrari. If they could sell 2,500 DB's, 3,500 Vantage, 500 Rapide and 500 Vanquish each year, things would be good for the brand.
