The Leaf is cute - however save yourself some money and purchase a 2 year old one for 60% off.

New Leaf lists for about $30,000, less the tax credit, less 18 months of depreciation = $10,000 used car price. Best deal out there as there is nothing to wear out (aside from tires).

People should get a Leaf now, instead of a Model 3 (realistically) five years from now!

What about battery replacement? A Honda Hybrid owner was billed $2300 for a new battery pack. It was at 150,000 miles which these days for a Honda is middle age.

The Nissan Leaf with 100 miles range and killer deal ($3K down, $130/mo lease) seems to be a better proposition than the 200-mile Bolt. Its design is also cleaner than the Bolt's. It's a starter car for the college students, commuting workers, ...

The Model 3 is aiming for a more affluent audience and is not a direct competitor of the Leaf. Putting your biases aside, all the new EVs should compete against their ICE counterparts, not against each other as they cater to different targets. The success of Tesla should be seen as a positive for the BEV industry.

The CEO's logic does not make sense. The Leaf competes with a Tesla Model3 in the same way a Nissan Altima competes with a BMW 3 series... It really doesn't.

Both the Model 3 and Leaf are 4 door electrics. From there on, there have pretty much nothing in common. Leaf is an economy minded car exclusively. The Model 3 offers likely performance options that put it on par with a Lambo. All of the deposits are a testament that people REJECTING the economy minded electrics, and want performance and style. Tesla is delivering.
