Tesla Model 3 spied during commercial shoot
In its ‘The week that electric vehicles went mainstream’ blog, Tesla Motors proudly says it has received more than 325,000 pre-orders for the Tesla Model 3 without advertising it, but the company is indeed working on a commercial. A silver-coloured Tesla Model 3 was spotted recently on public roads during a commercial shoot in which the chase car filming the commercial was a Tesla Model S.

The Tesla Model 3 is now available to pre-order for a (reserving) price of US$1,000. The youngest Tesla will be available in both single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD models, with prices starting at just US$35,000 before federal and state incentives in the U.S. market. The base model will have a driving range of 215 miles (346 km). The Model 3 officially unveiled to the public was a prototype and the company is working on some exterior and interior changes to make the design look even better and improve the practicality.

Seriously doubt this is a commercial shoot. First of all, Tesla doesn't shoot commercials. Second, why shoot a commercial for the Model 3, a car that won't be on sale for many months and hardly needs any more publicity. Third, you don't shoot commercials on open public streets with your buddy filming from his Model S. I have no idea what this is but my guess is it's not meant for public consumption.

It must be part of their continued, desperate, PR efforts and counter criticism that the Model 3 Musk drove at the launch was basically a cobbled-together golf cart.

There is doubt that the Model 3 development is on track. This is a thinly veiled, last-ditch effort to quiet the criticisms in the investor community that there will actually BE a Model 3 launched.

True is, we don't know, and Tesla is losing credibility about whether they can deliver.
