Automakers Want Insurance Companies To Help With Contacting Recall Vehicle Owners
 Major carmakers want U.S. auto insurance companies to help persuade millions of American car owners to get recalled vehicles fixed.

The new push comes as a U.S. House panel will hold a hearing Thursday on efforts by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to reduce the number of uncompleted vehicle recalls.

Yeah! Cash rape the consumers! That's the ticket!

Making insurance companies do that will raise rates and in effect that punishes the consumer for the sins of the manufacturer(s).

Why should they? They offer coverage in case of death. At MOST they should require death coverage be compulsory. They didn't produce the defective product. Screw the automaker. Insurance companies didn't take bailouts, and they offer a federally mandated service.

I know it's a devil's advocate position, but let's be real here....not their eff'ing problem.
