YOU Decide: Which RARE BMW M3 Or M4 Would YOU Want All To Yourself?

At a recent event, BMW corporate pulled together a few icons. If you haven't noticed, BMW as of late has been really embracing its elder vehicles.

You know what the sticker says: "Respect your elders."

Rare BMW M3s and M4 GTS

It could have to do with the fact these vehicles speak to consumers and it also could have to do with the company's launch of its vintage division. For the launch of the all-new M4 GTS, the Bavarians brought together the following:

- E30 M3 Evo
- E36 M3 GT
- E46 M3 CSL
- E92 M3 GTS
- All-new M4 GTS

That's a helluva selection to choose from and if you ask us there's not exactly a clear winner here. Each vehicle has its pros and cons, as well as its own place in BMW history.

But we're going to pose a hypothetical situation here. Let's say you had room for only ONE in your fleet, WHICH one would YOU choose?

"All" is not an acceptable answer.

It depends on what I would do with it - and it depends on how I got it.

If I "won" or was "Given" and of them and was not required to drive it - of course I would want the one that has the most value. I would hold it in my collection (Ha ha) for a while and then sell it.

If I had to actually drive the car - at a hair under 6'7" - Obviously I would choose the one I would actually fit into - which may be NONE of them. It is likely the newest one would have the most room for the driver.

However - at my age and size - I find that these small sports cars are simply too small for me to get comfortable - and the ride is too punishing. My S-600 with the 12 cylinder is plenty fast enough - and you can ride all day and never regret it. I do not regret being alive this long - I simply regret that my body is growing older faster than I am. Still - I have my mothers generation in my family that is largely still alive - with 9 100 year olds. So - You will be stuck with me for a while.

E30 M3 Evo (most famous of the originals), E46 M3 CSL (possibly the best M3 ever made), E92 M3 GTS (a close 2nd to being the best and V8 power), E36 M3 GT (maligned and under-rated M3 but still sweet) and finally the new M4 GTS (Not totally sold on the new direction… turbo and skittery rear end that won't stay planted).
