Mitsubishi CEO and COO To Resign Over Cheating Scandal?
Mitsubishi Motors Corp.'s top two executives are likely to resign over the Japanese automaker's manipulation of fuel economy data, Japanese media reported today. The scandal has halved the company's market value in a week.

Chairman and CEO Osamu Masuko has already told some affiliated dealers and partsmakers of his intention to resign, the Yomiuri daily said.

Separately, the Mainichi daily reported President and COO Tetsuro Aikawa has decided to step down.

I'm wondering if this is all an elaborate ploy to stay relevant. I've never heard a Mitsubishi owner claim their car gets great gas mileage. If anything they wouldn't know because the gas tanks are so tiny, you're filling up twice a week.

There was a time when Mitsubishi actually made some compelling car - some of which would have been opined about in this group - that ended long ago

Unfortunately - today - Mitsubishi is a large conglomerate in Japan that is about to go out of Automobile production - for a very few it is a shame - but the reality is - most really don't care at all. By the way - when they stop AUTO production -their stock will likely go up!
