DRIVEN + VIDEO: The Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf Is One Limited And PRICEY, But Is It WORTH It?
When we heard that Aston Martin was going to be jump starting the Lagonda brand, I think I was a bit surprised. While I can certainly understand Aston's business angle for wanting to start producing extremely limited, extremely high ticket items, the Lagonda name didn't speak too much to me.

Probably because it reeked of that abomination from the 1980s that was not particularly good looking and wasn't exactly known for reliability. Turns out that's exactly what our British friends from across the pond had in mind.

Starting with the chassis of a Rapide S, Aston did a bunch of work to bring the market the Lagonda Taraf.

Although it was only offered for sale in select Middle Eastern markets, it didn't take too long for the supercar maker to realize that it was potentially limiting a good thing.

But considering it costs about a million bucks, one question trumps them all: Is it worth it?

THINK: There's so many other über luxury options, like the Mercedes-Maybach S600, the Rolls-Royce Phantom, the Bentley Mulsanne Speed, need I go on?

That said, check out the clip below to learn a bit more about the super nutty Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf.

Jonny Lieberman celebrates the 150th episode of Ignition presented by Tire Rack in style, by driving the new Lagonda Taraf around Great Britain. A hand-built, one-million dollar sedan built by Aston Martin in the same skunkworks workshop where they built the One-77. Only 200 examples will ever exist. The Taraf sports carbon-fiber body panels, a high-strung 540 horsepower V-12, and more rear seat room than a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. But is there anyway any sedan is worth one-million bucks? Watch and find out!

A million bucks? Come on now. Why settle for an Aston Martin super luxury wannabe, when you can buy yourself the real deal -- a Rolls Royce -- and still have enough change to buy yourself... another Rolls Royce!

And why buy a Rolls Royce when you can buy a Cadillac CT6 that has more interior room than a Phantom has.

ANd you can also save money by buying a $2 watch at the flea market - rather than wasting money on a Rolex too.

For people who have he ability to pay for them - there is simply nothing that competes with almost complete exclusivity - something that ROLLS has when compared to a Chevy Impala - but not equal to the Lagonda.

I'd become the next Caitlyn Jenner to own a Taraf.
