VIDEO: 32 SMART Little Things YOU Should Know About The Tesla Model X
This year there's no question in my mind that there is no other automaker demanding headlines quite like Tesla. From an investing standpoint, from a product standpoint, and from a technology standpoint, all eyes are fixed on TSLA.

So, what now?

While the Model X has been placed front and center for 2016, there's still a lot of hubbub over the Model 3. Folks, let's get passed the HUGE amount of handraisers that plopped down $1,000 refundable deposit and start focusing on the product. The Model 3 is merely a concept. The Model X is actually shipping.

That said, many publications have been swooning over things like its monstrous power, the Falcon doors that look cool but have been causing some problems and the X's bioweapon defense mode.

Storied automotive publication Edmunds decided to show off other little elements of the Model X that shows you the company's engineers were really thinking things through when they developed this vehicle. Some of these Easter Eggs may have you salivating for an X.

See what we're talking about, below!

Edmunds takes you on a tour of the new Tesla Model X, showing off 32 cool features in two short minutes. Falcon doors, autonomous driving, doors that open for you, and a frunk. What's not to love?

Anyone who thinks Tesla is going to fail is a maroon.

They are doing a lot of things right, most of all they are trying to innovate across every aspect of a car and are willing to take some risks. There is still a long way to go, but without them I don't think nearly as many people would be considering electric cars as there are today. 2 years ago I was the only person at my office with a Tesla (60 person office). Now there are 2 Model S, a potential Model X, and 6 people on the list for a Model 3.

I can't say whether Tesla is going to fail or not BUT I'm pretty sure other companies are going to adopt and improve on many of these watchmacallit in their own cars. At the end of the day, these Tesla owners are going to have a fun time using these thingies knowing other car drivers don't have the same thingamajig at their disposal. Reminds me of first time iphone adopters (aka stupid people that are wasting their money) showing off "look at what my phone does". And even if Tesla does fail, non-Tesla owners will benefit as our own cars will have many of these doodads. Now let's all go back to driving our stick shift hellcats to the nearest gas stations to get gasoline. I also want to qualify that I don't have plan to buy Tesla any time soon, heck, I don't even have a hybrid Prius or electric cars, I just drive an Audi Q5 ... ooops sorry, I just lapsed into a TheSteve moment.

The problem is that most auto manufacturers do not have a culture of innovation, most will perpetually be years behind. Tesla works more like a tech company than an auto manufacturer, for better or worse. Even if other car companies start moving their headquarters to Silicon Valley, it will still take years to catch up. The iPhone is still the most profitable smartphone of all time, and only now is Android starting to catch up in terms of quality and experience (I'm an Android user myself). That is between two companies with similar cultures, it is going to be much more difficult for traditional car manufacturers to produce comparable cars (after 4 years there are still 0 electric cars that directly compete with the Model S).

The problem with operating like a tech company and not an auto company is that (1) the product will be perpetually made obsolete by the next tech thing and (2) because of their tech bent, they are making cars of less than ideal quality.

Literally nothing on a Tesla is technology that no one else has.

Agree with the first point, new features can come out multiple times a year so you can definitely get that feeling. As for the technology piece, that is way, way off. So far not a single other manufacturer has matched Tesla in terms of electric motor technology, battery technology, autopilot, supercharging, or even the infotainment system (the last one I was positive someone would copy by now). They are setting the baseline in all of these areas. If they were easy to copy--even with public patents--other companies would have implemented them by now.
