SAVE TOP GEAR (signatures needed)

To: The BBC

Since Richard Hammond's crash on Wednesday 20th September, numerous politicians, action groups and random people in the street have called for Top Gear to be pulled off the air at last, stating that it sets a bad influence.

Jeremy Clarkson has written an article here:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006440317,00.html

In it he states that Hammond did get training, and that it looks like the main cause of the accident was a burst tyre (which, obviously, no one can prepare for) AND he says that Hammond knew the risks and still went for it.

We who sign this petition may be fans of Top Gear, might be fans of the Presenters, or might just think that this quality program is well worth a small portion of their TV License fee.

No matter who we are, we firmly believe that Top Gear should be kept on our screens and should be allowed to make more seasons of high quality, top speed enjoyment.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

I am not signing this, its absolutely stupid for someone to put a jet engine into a car for shits and giggles and crashing. A lot of their segments have been useless and sensational, and this has absolutely no value for people looking for reviews and whats new in cars.

If you want to know how a car drives and what its qualities are, then go to a dealership and drive it.

1st . What if they did show it in the USA and they wanted to take it off the air, wouldnt you want everyone to help you keep it on air?

2nd. You can download the program and or watch clips of it online. which is better then nothing if you ask me.

I think people fail to realize that he is most likely permanantly disabled after this accident. If he had died, there would have been no discussion on petitions, the show would have been immediately cancelled. After this incident the show will be cancelled anyway because most insureres will not provide insurance for the show.

No one should die for someone elses entertainment. Shame on anyone who has supports this behavior and signs this post.

Don't sign this petition! Let high and mighty Jeremy Clarkson twist in the wind for all he's spewed on that show. He made a lot of enemies with his seig heil / Porsche Gayman schtick. Bring back Top Gear, but dump this complete idiot who shoots his mouth off, authorizes 300 mph test drives and almost kills his colleague. Give it to someone else.

Signed. Top Gear is a hugely popular show. They just have to lessen the intensity of those wacky stunts that is not really applicable to anyone lives. The first stig died as a result of drag racing on an aircraft carrier! Its fun to watch but it is dangerous for the driver. In Hammond's case, the jet powered thing must be driven by a trained stuntman/professional, not the one of the show's stars.

vcowman, you are obviously not familiar with britains health and safety rules. if there was a danger that a bird in a tree would die as a result of this, it would have not gone ahead. the trouble was a tire blew up, which is something called an ACCIDENT. i fall off my bike, i could have died (like if i hit my head on the ker or something) but would i stop riding? no! would i sue my dad for putting me in danger? no! its an accident! richard is in far MORE danger walking along the street, imagine if he tripped, or if a shop fell on him, or a car hit him? 4000 people per year die on britains roads, i think that is a higher chance than driving a jet car.
if you want a car review, watch 5th gear, or read msn autos.

You must live in a bubble
Go do your research, from CNN Journalists in the Middle East to Supertankers in the Pacific, People are DYING for our Entertainment. you can try to justify it all you want but Accidents Occur.

In the Event of a Near 300mph Tyre Blowout there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING a Trained Professional Can Do to avoid going out of control, Hell Drag Racers don't get up to 250mph yet you see Horrific Crashes on there so please stop all the USE A TRAINED PROFFESSIONAL CRAP
