SPIED: All-New Pics Of The Seven Seater Volkswagen SUV — Is It Too PLAIN For YOUR Taste?
Volkswagen is one of the world's largest automakers. Despite its recent troubles and its age-old suspect reliability, the company has been able to reach all-new heights. So, what's next?

It needs a seven-seat sport-utility vehicle.

We don't know what the hold up has been but the company is finally getting around to it. After showing a slew of all-new concept vehicles that look bad ass and purposeful, it's clear that VW is actually getting to work on something.

While these aren't the first spy shots of the all-new big daddy VW, in my opinion, they are the best. Scope out this vehicle from all angles. It looks like a Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class rival.

There's no way this thing will NOT have seven seats.

My only concern is that it may be too plain from what we've seen so far. Hopefully VW doesn't deliver a car without some sizzle.

Looks like they f'ed up the show car with an ugly, Impala-inspired "hip" that adds a random curve to a vehicle that is essentially all straight lines. #DUMB

Plain sells. The new Q7 is burning up the sales charts.

If you get the proportions right - plain can be called "Classic"(Like a Rolls) - or even "Continental". The raised hip is an homage to Bill Mitchell (Gm Head designer) - who used it very well in quite a number of vehicles - like the Pontiac Grand Prix. Unlike Mitchell - the line goes OVER the wheelwells front and back if you look closer to the picture athough in back they dont come back down - they go straight to the top of the tail lamps. ANd the wheels look too small as well. IT will depend on the front and back whether the design continues the VW mistake of looking too old.(Conservative)

While I agree it is ugly - the Flex is the last Full Size Station Wagon left on the market in the USA. For people who prefer a wagon to a minivan - for years I did - they have no choice. As a wagon - the Flex actually rides pretty well - and is easier to drive than a Mini-van or SUV.

What I do not understand is why they make CROSSOVERS - that simply look like trucks - instead of looking more like cars.

Flex is the modern day Aztec - - - a useful but hideous car to look at.
