Alfa Romeo's 503HP M3 Killer Ready To Hit The Road - Would You Consider Italian Over German Power?

The Italian M3 rival is finally ready to hit the roads, with Alfa Romeo currently launching the Giulia in the European market.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde (or Cloverleaf for English-speaking countries) wants to offer not only a genuine alternative to the usual high-performance saloons from Germany, but aims to reshuffle the cards in the segment.

Powered by a ‘Ferrari-inspired’ twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 producing 503hp and 600Nm (442 lb ft) of peak torque, it is capable of a 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 3.9 seconds, topping out at an unrestricted 190mph (305km/h).

I think Alfa Romeo has a real winner here with the new Giulia Quadrifoglio.
The engine sound is fantastic.

I predict very few M3s will be "killed".

If they made a coupe version, might look at it.

I'm no fan of the Germans, but they will obliterate this for quality and reliability and that's pretty damning of the Alfa.

To directly answer the question - I would certainly take a real Ferrari over any german "M" vehicle. No - not an Alfa - a real ITALIAN Ferrari.I am sure most here would do the same.

Well I will tell you this. It is very rare to have the top Euro car magazine all give a unanimous thumbs up to the same vehicle when it comes to engine performance, ride, handling, interior quality, styling then they have with this car. I urge you all to go on line and read the following reviews from Auto Express, Autocar, Car, Top Gear, and Evo. While 1 publication stated that interior quality was not upto Mercedes and Audi they do rate it better than the Jaguar XE. They also thought it's styling was much better close up then on an auto show stand. I further read that the twin turbo V6 is not based on the Maserati(ChryslerPenstastar)block but rather from the V8 of the Ferrari 488. It was simply created by loping off 2 cylinders. They also rate the handling more friendly and more stable than the M3 with a better ride. Also while the steering lock is only 2 turns this is not a twitchy car to drive. Further it has a lot more room in the rear of the car than the Jaguar XE. To sum it up they are calling this car the "Best Car from Alfa Romeo in years". The Quadrafolglio is "going for the M3 Jugular"as it is a better car to drive. To quote Top Gear "Alfa Romeo has made a brilliant car. After years of modestly capable(Giulietta) or actively underwhelming(4C)cars Alfa has finally built a belter. It is actually a relief to be able to write that, to find that this time there need to be any 'if's' or 'but's' or qualifications or caveats-The Giulia is great. Full Stop. End Of Story". I think that sums it up pretty clearly.

I would definitely consider it. The latest M3/M4 have missed the mark in a number of ways and between this Alfa and the probable new Jaguar XE SVR they may be fine alternatives. I would probably wait a good 6 months after they go on sale though....

No doubt I would absolutely consider this car with the C63S AMG and M3.

On a side note, I really wish Lexus would put the RC-F's engine in the IS for a new ISF or at least an engine to truly compete with the 340i/S4/C43. That's all the IS needs is a really potent engine to be truly great.

Good as a lease so you can trade it in before it breaks. Kinda like an Audi and BMW.
