Are You Getting Worried Yet? Tesla Model 3 Plans Still Not Final 18 Months Away From Production
Tesla Motors Inc TSLA.O said on Tuesday the design of its new Model 3 has not been finalized, even though the electric car maker expects to begin building the mass-market sedan within the next 18 months.

Tesla's plans to expand its Fremont, California factory are still in process and some aspects of procuring and making parts for the Model 3 have yet to be determined, the company said in its quarterly financial report.

The Model 3, whose projected starting price of $35,000 is less than half of the luxury Model S sedan, is intended to dramatically boost Tesla's production volume and revenue, and help the company eventually turn a profit.

Worried is not the correct word.

There are very few if any people here who even expect that Tesla will actually meet its production OR price target. Tesla already has a reputation for being slow to the trigger - and I certainly do not expect the Model 3 to be in production in 18 months - nor do I expect the car to sell for less than $40,000. Unlike today - where they lose a little on every car - they cannot make it up in volume on the Model 3 - it will have to be priced where it makes a decent profit - or it will drag Tesla down.

And as they wait they burn through loads and loads of your cash. It's almost like a ponzi scheme. When they need more $$ they'll just AUTOCAD a new vapourware model, market it and then ask for deposits to FUND current production.

Psst. Here's a little secret, the four year old Model S plans are still not final, it keeps changing rather constantly.

It is surprisingly good considering the age of the company and the complexity of the power electronics. When it fails they have great service as well.

Me worry? No way! My money is in my pocket. This scam of advance payments to upstart car companies has been played out before and never ends well. Would be interested if someone with a deposit posted the fine print in their order contract...should be very revealing.

Gladly, I'll speculate on TVR deposits.

Musk is so obviously a scammer.
