Audi To Invest Nearly $3 Billion To Fund 20 New Or Upgraded Models By End of 2016

Audi has pledged to produce 20 new or upgraded models before the close of 2016 and to launch its first all-electric SUV by 2018, with an injection of £2.4 billion worth of investment following its most successful year of sales yet.

The new models will include the all-new Q2, the SQ7 TDI and the Q7 e-tron, which uses a hybrid powertrain and can travel up to 35 miles in full-electric mode, and a new SUV due in 2018 that will be badged as the Q6. The all-new car will use an electric drivetrain and take influence from Q5 e-tron concept of 2015.

There comes a point in time when a design has run its course - and should be dramatically updated or changed - Audi reached that one long ago. ANd they still style their cars so similar that it remains hard to tell them apart. Each model should have something different to make it clear that the A8 you have does not look like an A3.

And they did not change the bumpers - they changed the headlights. Still have that cow-catcher grill - and I cannot figure out why - very few AutoBahns in Deutchland have wandering cows on them. Fact is - a wandering piece of beef on a road generally make the national news here in the USA.

Still - for a second tier premium that competes with Lexus,Infinti. Volvo - and Buick - their cars have nice interiors - although you pay for it in both money and in repair costs. Most of the people I know who bought an Audi - bought ONE. My sister in law's Audi spent more time in the service department that she had it in its first year.

Audi is one of the best brands out there and its product is very appealing. Give your head a shake if you feel otherwise
