Cadillac Killed ELR Production Back In February And No One Noticed
We knew it was official back in early February but Cadillac was killing the ELR plug-in because not enough people were willing to pay its insane $75,000 base price (it was later lowered). Really, what’s wrong with people these days?? Sarcasm aside, Cadillac’s then newly installed president, Johan de Nysschen, realized not long after he arrived the ELR, despite liking its design, was a failure. Cadillac officials said that the ELR would continue as a 2016 model but no second generation was under development.

Wow!
This is a badly written article.

Apart from that: who cares? GM sold maybe a 100 in a good month.

Indeed and they probably have enough made to cover sales until 2032 anyway.

The ELR really a modern Cimarron. Taking the poorly engineered 1st generation Volt--itself cobbled together from bits of the Cruze, batteries, and duct tape--, throwing on Cadillac Corrado styling, and doubling the price was idiocy.

I've had the displeasure of driving one and let's just say that the Walmart nature of the first-generation Volt screams through.

Yes, the ELR was a big failure. But why the constant Cadillac bashing on this site??

Where are articles about how Audi just keeps doing the same, tired exterior design over and over and over. And how BMW has truly lost it's way by trying to cover every single niche and every single buyer - with cars that no longer speak to what made it great in the first place??
