SPIED + VIDEO: The Next-Gen BMW M5 Is Caught In Action Around The 'Ring — Notice Anything...Different?
This is what we've been waiting for. Although spy shots of the next-gen BMW M5 have been floating around, we have yet to hear this vehicle or see it in action. That's a big piece to the puzzle.

The good news is that an all-new clip has surfaced on the interwebz and we're bringing it right to you.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present the first glimpse of the BMW M5 doing its thing around the 'Ring. Overall, the exterior design doesn't appear as though it will be undergoing a significant change. Yes, more evolution rather than revolution.

But there is one big change. This all-new M5 is rumored to be equipped with all-wheel drive. And, we're starting to believe it. Just listen to how this vehicle works its way around the Green Hell. Note anything strange?

It is squealing its tires.

Aside from that, the engine and exhaust note sound pretty much the same. This too is a bit disappointing as we were hoping for a bit more personality and perhaps a much-changed motor. The latest points to an engine producing thereabouts of 600 horsepower from a bi-turbo V8. Essentially, a carryover.

Let us know what you think after seeing the below.

This video shows you the 2018 BMW M5 F90 (optional with Xdrive). It has a 4.4 liter Twin Turbo V8 engine what produce around the 600HP.

Styling aside, can you name a sedan that is as capable as the M5 ? The Ghibli S and XFR arguably look better, but don't come close in term of performance.

What BS, maybe you have never owned a BMW or just make shit up. I have owned a bunch of BMWs from a 3.0CSL and an 1802 back in the early 80s to a 325ix and an M3 in the 90s, an M5, an X5 in the 2000s to a 318d and an X5 35d in the 2010s. Never had a major problem with any of them and very very few minor issues. In fact the only cars I have had major problems with were one American truck and two Japanese cars. Mainly a Honda Accord and to a lesser extent a Nissan 240SX in the late 90s and a Dodge truck that went through starters on a regular basis. I really get tired of all the experts here when it comes to reliability and related issues. If you are going to slam this new M5 before it even comes out, then how about you back up your opinion with your experience with previous model M5s? And please no JD powers BS. There are way too many flaws there...like what an owner of a Buick considers a problem and what the owner of a BMW considers a problem. 60yr olds buying a Buick LeSabre or a Lexus ES have way different expectations of a car than a 30yr old car fanatic buying a BMW 328i or an M2.

Aside from the lack of a carbon fiber roof and the "shit-eating" grin on this test mule . . .

Lack of oversteer and a seemingly slight initial push on turn-in could indicate an AWD setup.

Also, it was an automatic and there did not seem to be any waste gate noise.

Electric turbos?
