DRIVEN + VIDEO: So, What's The McLaren 570GT REALLY Like?
Something that may seem confusing at first can make sense a bit down the road. One such instance is the all-new McLaren 570GT.

So, McLaren took a mid-engine supercar and provided it with a bit more luggage space behind the rear seats and threw in a glass rear window that opens up. Seems a bit, peculiar.

But when you actually consider the company built the F1 to be the best motoring car in the world, full stop, it all starts to make a bit of sense. The F1 was meant to be an all-purpose car for cruising or a track day. Rather than engineer all of that into the 570S, however, it seems that the British team went another direction.

You have the 570S, which is the hardcore car at the moment — don't rule out an LT or something else nuttier coming down the 'pike — and the 570GT. It's a bit more sedate with its suspension set up and how it operates but don't let that fool you.

It still has a 562 horsepower engine in it. And it is still a McLaren.

The McLaren 570GT is McLaren’s attempt to tackle luxury. Sort of. The GT is a tiny bit softer, a teensy bit more cosseting, and has a little more boot space, than the 570S.

I wish they'd lose that swoopy and swishy styling :-/ It looks like how Nike would design a car, inspired by their logo.

The smile should be on the face of the driver, NOT on the front of the car. I see the McLaren every time a box arrives from Amazon.com.
