Memorial Day 2016 — A Day To Remember Some Who Gave Us All

Memorial Day 2016 — A Day To Remember Some Who Gave Us All
While Memorial Day Weekend typically kicks off the summer season at your local beach with the grills going and suds be passed around, we want to take a moment to remember the real reason why this is a holiday. Memorial Day isn't just another day.

It's a day to think about those who served in the United States' armed forces and passed during their duty.

Because of some who gave us all, we get to enjoy the freedoms of the great 'ol U-S-of-A. We cannot forget that our freedoms do not come without a price. It came by way of service members who paid with their own lives.

Whether you're surrounded by your family at a BBQ or watching a baseball game or heading to the car dealer to take advantage of sales pricing, take a moment to consider those who are no longer with us. In fact, consider what you can do to let our current service members know that we appreciate them and that we care. Once they're gone, we can only remember.

Enjoy Memorial Day and be safe, Spies.

Thank you to all of the U.S. service personnel who have fought and lost their lives in an effort to make America what it is.

Twenty-four notes. It's a simple melody, 150 years old, that can express our gratitude when words fail. Taps honors the men and women who have laid down their lives and paid the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of freedom. Fair winds and following seas, shipmates.

The sad thing is that the Liberals want you to think that service to the country pales in comparison to "protesting" about climate change, black lives matter, Sanders, LGBTQXYZ rights and so on.

We are free to bitch about politics BECAUSE men and women of all cultural backgrounds and income levels chose to serve the nation.

We are free to disparage the military BECAUSE men and women of all cultural backgrounds and income levels chose to serve the nation.

I am free to be an unrepentant capitalist BECAUSE men and women of all cultural backgrounds and income levels chose to serve the nation.

I am free NOT to serve this country BECAUSE men and women of all cultural backgrounds and income levels chose to serve the nation.

In short, I am free BECAUSE men and women of all cultural backgrounds and income levels chose to serve the nation.

I always say "thank you for your service to our country" every time I see someone in the military.

Mad props to the men and women who serve and have sacrificed and to their families as well.

@Agent00R, I'm a total bastard and I'm Ok with that. I am not OK with disrespect. On my watch, I will honor the men and women in service. When they come to our dealerships we treat them differently. It is our duty to do so.

Sorry - Matt - but that statement about liberals regarding service to the country is simply a typical Conservative LIE. The fact is - you will find that ALL people in this country - liberals and conservatives - support our military - regard the treatment of veterans as a first priority - and consider military strength to be one of the main reasons for government. AND - the fact is people of all political persuasion also serve in the military as well - and we AMERICANS support all of them. This is one case where political affiliation is simply not an issue - ALL Americans are proud of and support our military and Veterans and you will find that people of all political slant standing side by side in the various events around the world (One of my Uncles is buried in the American Cemetary in France).

This is one case where we ALL thank them for allowing us to disagree on other things. I am free to object to the concentration of assets where the top 20% of Americans owns 85% of the assets in the country and is becoming richer by the day. We live in the richest country in the world and over $15 million children do not get enough to eat. Yet, some can support a draft dodger to run for president. And some can support a person who claims to have given money to veterans affairs - on one day - and has to be shamed into actually doing it months later.

And I can say that - because AMERCIANS have supported and served our nation. I too thank people for service to our country - have hired many a veteran as well. IT is basically repugnant to characterize any American Otherwise.

@Tom - Was liberal President Obama respecting the military this past week when he called the United States and the military who executed the mission in Hiroshima "evil." I think not.

I am not President Obama and he did not call the military people evil - read the quote again. War is evil - but he did not apologize in any way for dropping the bomb. (And we ALL agree that should never happen too) BUT Donald Trump is not better saying that John McCain was not a War Hero - and holding out on the money HE said he donated to Veterans. WE can agree that politicians are a different breed that do not really represent the average american. Unless of course you aver that Donald Trump represents YOU.

The fact is - Veterans day remains an AMERCIAN remembrance and it is still repugnant to the many men and women of ALL types of politics who have served and given their all to attempt to hijack it for any political purpose.

It is you who are pathetic Matt - go hide under a rock. For those of us who have served with honor and dignity - it cannot be anything else.

Dear Bob M =- Since I have stated that I am a Liberal(It is a separate party where I live ) - and Hillary is NOT one - she is a Democrat - why do you associate me with Obama or Clinton - they are from another Party

I take that BOTH major party candidates are DEEPLY flawed and EACH Have LIED - and Mr. Trump is also a draft dodger - who had to be COERCED into actually giving the million he pledged by a liberal (note the small L - not the party) newspaper. Mrs. Clinton did not sleep through Benghazi - and previously she was turned down by a republican congress for more security force funds for embassy protection. When You make a list of their lies (After saying he has $6 million pledged ON TV - Mr Trump said he did not say that). Mr Trump has also been pro choice longer than he has been pro life - it is clear that Trump WINS over the last Year. Since we don't have HIS Tax returns - we don't know what else he has fudged either. In addition - he has said that he would not attack unless he was forced to being second - Hillary has NOT attacked any of Trumps wives - why is Trump attacking Bill - he is not running for president and actually CANNOT either.

I am simply saying - that we who have served - were not serving for a political party - we are Americans - ALL OF US - and the day that Commemorates those who served commemorates ALL Americans who served - and ALL Americans honor our Veterans - and it is not a "republican" only event. I am sure you agree with that statement - and if you don't - shame on you!
