TEASED! Audi Prepares Us ONE LAST Time Before It Drops The All-New A5 Coupe

Over the past year we’ve been keeping an eye on the latest developments from Audi. Though we’ve seen the all-new Audi A5, S5 and now RS5 undergoing developmental testing, it’s been wrapped up pretty tight.

That’s OK though because, realistically, we do not think it’s going to change much in the styling department.

Sure, it’ll get all-new LED headlights and taillights and tidier styling as seen on the all-new A4; however, we’re not expecting anything truly significant here. As seen in the latest spy shots the all-new A5 looks very similar to the last-gen A5. Like the A4 you shouldn’t be expecting anything aside from enhanced details.

The good news; however, is that we know its interior will be fully revamped and more likely than not it will be inspired by the Q7 and follow the A4 closely. Also, keep in mind that the all-new A4 has an impressive driving experience. We only expect that to improve and apply pressure to the BMW 4-Series, Cadillac ATS and all-new Infiniti Q60.

Check out the clip below and stay tuned for today's updates.

Seems like more "new looks the same as the old" to me. Did Audi and BMW take the same pill that results in putting a new car under the styling of the old one it replaces?

Sure looks like it to me. Although Mercedes-Benz is guilty of having the S,E and C-classes look identical except for the differing lengths, the design changes from generation to generation for each car are much greater.

It also helps that Mercedes-Benz takes a top down design approach where i uses the S-Class design to influence the design of the E and C-classes.

Looking at the global sales results, Mercedes-Benz's strategy is the correct one whereas BMW and Audi's is the wrong one.

Funny how MB lets the S class set the design direction - which makes sense whereas BMW let the 3 series drive the design of the 7 series. How ass backwards

The new A5 is DULL and not a stunner like the current one.

After Audi updated the headlight design on the 2013 model, the A5/S5 lost a bit of sex appeal. Now it's lost almost all sex appeal.

The front-end is all Ford Fusion. The rest of it is just a contradiction of design: the angular design of the headlights, greenhouse, taillights in conflict with the pronounced curve of the body panels and accent line. It's lost its front-to-rear flow that the outgoing model has.

The interior is an improvement, I will say.

I own a current generation A5 convertible and..... I'm not impressed. I'm hoping the outside grows on me, but I was really hoping they'd do something a bit more edgy to separate it from the A4. As for the interior, it does look a bit fresher (and I love the virtual cockpit), but now it feels even more like a BMW, which isn't exactly a good thing for me. I'll have to reserve final judgement till I see it, and the convertible, in person
