(1) It's too much for a Nissan. (2) It's too much for such a frangible product. (3) Corvette Stingray Z06. (4) Porsche 911.

Way too much...might see one a year on the streets of LA as it is and everyone knows how stupid we are about overspending on cars.

It really needs a 50% price cut to be taken seriously. Yes it's competent at the track, but so are other cars and there are other cars that are much more fun to drive at the limit. At this limit, you're very much aware that this is a Nissan with a lot of technology added in to make up for what the chassis lacks in refinement and innate talent.

I'm not a Porsche fan, but the 911 is a better car for the money.

Hey, if it's expensive then it's GOT to be good. Right? Right?

LOL @TheSteve. #priceless Have you ever had a chance do drive one? If not, the Germans are not worried. It's fans are rabid import tuner boys who overlook driveline failures and a myriad of other issues that suggest the car was never fully developed for sturdiness in prototype form and those flaws went largely unaddressed during production.

Matt, as much as handling, power, comfort, and other factors are important to me (I'm an ex-BMW guy who still respects The Brand), styling is also important to me. I would NOT buy the "best" car in the world, even if it was easily affordable, if I found it unattractive. Sorta like wanting a GF to be at least "easy on the eyes." That's just me.

So no, I have not tried any of the cars that aren't attractive to me. This is one. Anyone can get used to an ugly dog. I just don't want to :-)

Apparently it costs a lot of money to beat something with an ugly stick this many times to get the GT-R to its current state of excess.

How does it destroy $300K cars? By crashing into them like Zero fighter planes did to ships is WWII?

It actually looks better than previous versions. Heck, it even looks better than the GT-R Nismo refresh.

So they release a vehicle with mind-numbing, competition crushing performance for an original price of $79k, and now you guys want chassis upgrades and refinements. Uh yeah those things cost money, yes nissan please charge what the market will bear. Thanks!!!

Under no circumstance should this be a 6-figure vehicle. Maybe a special edition or NISMO, but not the standard model.

as amazing as this car is, its definitely overpriced. i think the most it should be is 75-80k. its a damn nissan, and i dont care how fast it is. if youre not tracking this car, a 1 second advantage over a corvette, viper or 911 is just not worth it.
