AWESOME or AWFUL: You Too Can Make Your Old, Big Bodied Mercedes-Benz S600 Sound Like A Pagani

I am not quite sure why but I've always had a fascination with older, big body Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedans. For me, the W140 speaks volumes. Everything, for lack of a better word, screams "gangster."

I'd love to have a 1999 model with the AMG monoblock wheels.

And now there may even be another reason why I'd want one. It would be a super cheap way to get the sound of a Pagani Zonda with essentially none of the drawbacks. Most prominently being I wouldn't be in debt for two to three lifetimes.

Apparently some people have been having fun with old-school S600s by taking their exhausts and modifying them so that they get the same high-pitched scream of the Zonda. I do not think there's a more fitting word than "epic."

Of course there's one problem with all of this: You're still driving a big body S-Class.

I think it's great that it's possible but I don't think I'd be caught dead in it.

I'd love to have a stock '99 S-Class though. :)
