DRIVEN + VIDEO: Volvo Makes A Comeback To The LARGE Wagon Class — The All-New V90, Reviewed
Yesterday you may have noticed we posted a story about the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon. Set for a mega debut tomorrow, it is expected to get a lot of attention.

While we thought that the estate market was dead, it doesn't appear that the automakers agree. Especially for the large luxury wagons.

As of now it seems like the V90 will be duking it out with the E-Class. But, what does the all-new, big daddy V90 deliver?

Well, we'll let our friends from across the pond explain. Check out this Autocar review of the all-new Volvo V90. Please note, this is the diesel variant.

If we were betting men, and we are, we suspect that the big wagons won't move the needle too much as U.S.-based consumers have proven time and time again to prefer large sport-utility vehicles.

The big Volvo estate is back. The Volvo V90 is the second car in Volvo's resurgence and it's the first time in decades, Volvo says, that it has had a car capable of taking on and beating the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Love Volvo wagons. This is a $45K product at 2X.

Volvo is going to sell a ton of these.

Conquest customers - Lexus, Jaguar and Audi A6 buyers will flock to Volvo's V90/S90 in droves.

Decorators, architects, realtors, 55 year old rich suburban tennis/golf club women will all be driving a V90/S90 in a year or two.

Owners of the stupid Range Rover Evoque and nice but somewhat impractical Range Rover Sport will also move over.

This wagon oozes money and "country club" prestige. Its going to be a hit.

Conquest sales from Jaguar?? You do realize that the stupidly named F Pace is poised to go nuts in the market right?

As a percentage the XC90 is a screaming success, but in terms of volume it has utterly failed to dent the BMW/Mercedes juggernaut.

The same will be true with the VS90. It will have initial sales that as a percentage look stunning, but in terms of volume this is highly unlikely to give the Germans ANY cause for concern.

I predict the F Pace and the Giulia (yes I know not the same type of vehicle) are likely to have better chances at grabbing volume.
