SPIED: FIRST Spy Shots Of The Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLE Surface!

Despite the most recent GLE only being unveiled last year, it looks like Mercedes is already testing the next one – the W167 gives it away (located on the rear of the model in the spy shots), the predecessor has the internal code W166.

These latest spy pictures show a heavily camouflaged exterior, but it’s not difficult to see that the front end has received a complete redesign.

The wheel arches look a little more pronounced than on its predecessor, emphasizing its SUV-stance.

If the GLC is an indication of the styling direction, this will be a nice re-design. I'd like to see Mercedes take a more aggressive approach with the front-end treatments of their SUVs to give more presence. The current GLE's front end is so non-descript, the only thing you notice is the 3-pointed star.

It will be more interesting to see if they take the E-class interior and interpret it for the GLE, just like they did with the C-sedan and GLC.

Actually I forgot they revamped the GLE's front-end a bit already and it looks better now.
