CAR WARS! How Does The All-New 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Compare To The BMW 5-Series And Audi A6?

If you’ve been keeping up with the latest, all-new luxury vehicles hitting the market, one of them is the all-new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Loaded with technology not even found on the range-topping S-Class, it certainly made a lot of noise at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS).

While buzz is certainly good, we don’t like to just see a lot interest. We want to see a company execute on a product. And that’s exactly what has us intrigued as to how it will fair out against the likes of its direct competition.

Although the Audi A6 and BMW 5-Series are quite dated when compared to the brand spankin’ new E-Class, what we do know is that both products have super loyal buyers. So, how does it shake out, exactly?

Well, I don’t want to spoil it for you, Spies. Scope out the full review via the clip below and let us know what you think. Does it seem accurate to you?

The Mercedes E-Class is a compact executive saloon that's supremely comfortable. But how does it measure up to the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6? Get Mat Watson's verdict with our full 4K review.

On styling alone, MB edges out the BMW, and the Audi A6 looks downright brutal by comparison. The review, which places the new E-class up front, seems right on the money.

The E Class will do what the S Class did before it: make BMW look sedentary and make Audi look like the German Buick it is.

I wouldn't even consider the E with this 4cyl engine. Its a buzzy mill in the C Class so I'm sure its worse in the E with just 241 bhp. Plus, everything you'd want on it will be an extra cost item... I'll pass.

The just stretched the C class. No impressed... Crazy how the people here always talking about Audi looking the same but give MB and BMW a pass.

Did you make a mistake or are you just trying to make a point?

The exterior of the E-class is just like the C-class but larger. In the 4th pictures I honestly couldn't even tell the difference between the E and the C from the side. The E-class interior is far better than BMW's cheap plastic interior in the 5-Series. The Audi A6, although older than both the Mercedes or BMW, still has a nicer interior than the BMW 5-Series.

BMW is going to fall even further behind Mercedes-Benz once the hugely popular E-class arrives at dealers starting on July 1.

Looking forward to the updated diesel AWD wagon E class. Now that's a classic family hauler that doesn't have to be quick 0-60, just well suited for carrying a family of 4 comfortably and safely all four seasons. It's the car you buy and keep for 15 years as your two kids go from elementary school to college. It will carry all the gear, and travel to all the states whether camping, soccer games or baseball championships.
