IMSA Imposes Emergency Measures To Curb Ford GT Domination Of Series
Recognizing the fact that the Ford GTs are walking away from their GT Le Mans competition, IMSA has broken from its standard rules requiring a two-week notification for making Balance of Performance (BoP) changes by issuing an emergency order for BoP changes to take place before this weekend’s running at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

I still contend there should be two main racing series:

- Everyone gets the exact same car. This focuses on driver ability.
- Everyone is free to engineer to their heart's content. This focuses on company and engineering ability.

The fact that you see these limitations only serves to dampen the spirit of engineering in order to make it artificially "close". Interesting NASCAR is pretty close to the same car type, but there's still a lot of variation and lack of right hand turns.
