I love the jejune writing style. 2018 seems a LONG time to wait for this product which has been outdated for a while in current form.

It's like a foreign hack translated a US article for a foreign media site. Then some US hack, translated the same article from off the foreign site & posted the material like it didn't originate from the US initially.

Can't wait to see this thing though. I assume the new Expedition will be similar in size to the old Excursion...which was a big brawny street machine when last offered. I'm hoping Lincoln takes full advantage & offers a really descent Navigator.

It is my understanding that the Expedition will continue to be the F150 station wagon and will not grow in size but come in two wheelbases. I'm hoping that Lincoln gets a body that has no interchangeable parts with the Ford.

My problem with the Navigator and the Escalade is that the basic Ford and Chevy (respectively) show through too loudly and too clearly.

If I were Ford, I'd give the "Expedition" to Lincoln and have a version of the Navigator pick up at the Ford's price point as a way of increasing sales at Lincoln. Wouldn't people rather drive a $48K Lincoln than a $48K Ford?

I agree Matt w/your comments on the Nav & especially Escalade. Problem w/GM I think is that they still sell every one they can make, even though their more polished Chevys. They could spend a little to make the Caddy a really unique Cadillac, something really distinctive and special but they sell everyone they can make, now... why spend the extra coin. There in lies the problem with their thinking about exclusivity and luxury.

@xjug1987a So true. The Escalades are on the lot 30 seconds before they sell. The Navigators sit forever and come with massive discounts.

The wife and I have 4 sons and she wants to try one or two times more for a girl. She just popped #4 out and is already talking about #5. I'm one of six and she's one of five. I'm her not-unwilling captive.

Yes, she wants an Escalade.

A Suburban will not "do", but she may have to put up with one because I cannot divert an Escalade to please her when they fly out of the dealer at or usually above list and there is no way in hell I'm paying above list knowing the Chevy-like true invoice.
