2017 Nissan Armada Uncovered In Houston

Some six months after its only debut, two examples of the new Nissan Armada were snapped by a reader out and about in Houston, Texas.

This is one of the first times the new model has been snapped in production-guise in public, prior to customer deliveries commencing shortly. Interestingly, both the burnt orange and dark blue examples pictured have tape covering up all the badges, to help hide the identity of the car's to the untrained eye.

@MD: your double posts remind me of Eddie the Echo. Makes me want a Double Cheese Burger even in this early morning hours. Cheers

And I have no idea why it's doing that. I'd delete if I could.

The Infiniti version of this thing is huge.

Meh....the QX80 is descent. The new Armada won't have that luxury feel like the Infiniti version though. Similar to having the Q70 vs the Maxima or the QX70 vs the Murano. I think the Armada will be upscale. Not every full-size SUV should be "luxury"...although if the pricing is sky-high, it better come equipped to the gills.

Why it took them so long to basically do what GM has done with Tahoe/Yukon vs the Escalade is beyond my own comprehension though.

You do know that the QX56 was an Armada, right?

Nice trick Nissan - based the upcoming mainstream car on the outgoing luxury version. Considering that the current Nissan Patrol based QX80 has been on the road since 2011 right, this means that it (the Patrol) will gain a 2nd life as the Armada, and I guess the upcoming QX80 (2017 or 2018???) will be something totally different, again.
