Maybe the only way for VW to survive is for Tesla to buy it. They could rename the whole pile VolksTelsaCitySolarWagon. All the lefty-liberal, socialist bases would be covered.

The Obama administration would then rally behind the whole City-People-Solar-Diesel concept and Dieselgate would just go away.

Tesla's EV credits would cancel out the diesel emissions issues, environmental paperwork transfers would net out against all the problems, and people can continue to buy and sell their Golf TDI's that they loved so much.

Tesla cannot afford to buy VW - and It will survive far longer than Tesla will - because Tesla is already over leveraged.
