RENDERED SPECULATION: If Lichte's Audi Q6 Looks Like THIS Would THIS Differentiate Audi Enough To Make YOU Buy?

RENDERED SPECULATION: If Lichte's Audi Q6 Looks Like THIS Would THIS Differentiate Audi Enough To Make YOU Buy?
It's the same story we've been hearing for a while now. "Just wait, it'll all change soon." Yet, there wasn't much of a change.

Our friends at Audi have been feeding us this message for quite some time; however, the enthusiast crowd has had enough. It wants to see real change. According to what I've been told, the all-new A8 will be the first Audi to be a real departure from what we currently know.

The A8 will be the watershed moment.

But, from the prototype test mules we've spotted, it doesn't seem so. Perhaps there's a lot more hiding underneath the swirly camouflage but we're not entirely convinced.

That said, the all-new Q6 sport-utility vehicle may actually be the groundbreaking product the four rings ships. According to Audi it will feature an all-new electric powertrain and if the company's SUV concepts are any indicator, its design will undoubtedly be unique.

The latest we've seen of the vehicle is an interpretation of what it may look like down the road. Boasting a prominent and all-new front grille design and clean lines, we're a bit curious: IF the all-new Q6 looks like THIS would this be different enough from Audi's usual moves to make you BUY?

Let us know, Spies!

@Agent00R I hope Audi paid you for that response. If this look is correct, this is an epic clusterduck stylistically speaking.

The face is garish and busy to the point of being cartoonish. If this is accurate, then Mark Blowme is only capable of doing caricatures of the cliches that Audi has lapsed into.

Audi needs a new look that only has the 4 rings in common with the played out look they so love.

"Audi needs a new look that only has the 4 rings in common with the played out look they so love."

Yes, that's precisely why Audi has cut into BMW's global sales lead and now sits just 30K units behind globally (with a brand new high-volume Q2 SUV set to go on sale in the second half of this year) and has seen 66 consecutive months of sales growth in the United States while BMW has seen more than one month in 2016 with double digit sales declines and is down 9% YTD.

Audi's look is played out in the sense that the sedans from the A3 to the A8 look too similar. However, the basic "branding" components of an Audi from the large grille to the LED headlights and high quality interior will remain.

Make no mistake, Audi is a corporation first and foremost with a goal of profitability. It will not suddenly remove its "branding" elements as it is clearly too high risk.

Audi is a division of VW like Oldsmobile was at GM.

This rendering speculation has zero appeal to me.

I was recently walking and saw a gorgeous Audi sedan parked nearby. I couldn't help wonder what it was. It turned out to be an older A4. It appears to me that Audi keeps moving further and further away from aesthetics, and more and more towards arbitrary changes while trying to still look identifiably Audi. I don't think that's a good combo, so far. It has produced few results that make me stop and take note, because it's so beautiful.

This rendering is horrible. Too much X6 and GLE Coupe going on and that front end is atrocious.

Audi will never release any car that isn't bland and boring to look at.

I actually like the side profile; however, the front grille is a mess.

There was a brief time when the front end of the Audi A5/S5 looked cool, then they completely lost the plot.

Wrong. Audi is a corporation with its own board of directors, shares and management. That corporation is wholly owned by Volkswagen Group.
