DRIVEN + VIDEO: The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class May Be An Old Dog Up To New Tricks BUT It's Selling Like CRAZY
With an all-new BMW X5 and all-new Audi Q7 roaming about the luxury sport-utlity vehicle market, one would expect Mercedes-Benz to step up to the plate. Well, it hasn't.

Sure, the Mercedes ML-Class had changed into the new nomenclature making it the GLE-Class but aside from the revised interior and new front/rear ends, what does it bring to the table?

We actually don't know because we haven't driven it nor has anyone really reviewed it that we've noticed. That is, until now.

Our friends abroad at Carwow decided to take a GLE350d for a spin and let us know the deal. One thing we know is that the GLE-Class must be doing something right — Agent 001 and I have been seeing the newly revised GLEs ALL over New York/New Jersey as well as SoCal.

Check out the review below!

Let Mat Watson take you through a full in depth review of the new Mercedes GLE. Is it just the old M class, or can it blow other SUVs like the Land Rover Discovery or Audi Q7 out of the water? Find out now by watching now in full 4k!

It's still that good is the answer as to why it's selling and it's attractive.

Its a great vehicle - right size, right finishes, right engines, right price.

I owned 2 of them (ML320, ML350) before buying a GL350 Bluetec and they are much larger inside than an X5 or Q7 or RR sport if you get the 2 row versions of those vehicle. It is well-priced. While it may be a little clunky looking, it is attractive enough. Its an excellent package.

Yeah, it's a solid offering. No doubt a winner.

Funny where I live I see GLE's quite a bit. But also old late model X5's, much more than new ones. Overall popularity still goes to the Lexus RX350 in the GTA.

Total chick car.. boring to look at too... Jeep Grand Cherokee offers much more and a much better price. And they're the same platform...

Mom's do love it. It was too small for us when the Mrs. wanted a Mercedes so we had a GL for a while, but outgrew it. New people keep showing up demanding a bespoke nursery. We loved the GL, but it was not suitable for the number of car seats we needed.

I agree on the GL now GLS. I like the way it looks but I"m on the other end than you its just me and the wife so she has a GLK, her 2nd. I don't like the GLC, it looks like all the others out there and hate the buzzy turbo 4.

@xjug1987a My wife wanted an Escalade. I said it was too big for our family--at the time. She settled on a Lexus GX which is a total turd. We took it for a test drive where I showed her how unsafe it was in an emergency situation and how stable the GL was in the same situation.

Then we reproduced again.

Then we got a Flex.

Then we reproduced and had a foster kid.

Im trying for a Suburban but she's saying Escalade.
