Porsche Macan Turbo Vs BMW M2 - Can A Performance Crossover Take On A Genuine Sport Sedan?

This is no joke people; a fat crossover wants to pick a fight with one of the nicest sports cars in the market today.

But this is no ordinary crossover we’re talking about; it is Porsche’s range-topping Macan Turbo.

Powered by a twin-turbo 3.6-litre V6 paired with a seven-speed double-clutch transmission, the Macan Turbo makes 394hp (400PS) and 405lb ft (550Nm) of torque. On the other hand we have the BMW M2 which uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six unit with 365hp (370PS) and 343lb ft (465Nm) of torque.

I would never be caught owning a Porsche Macan. I hate the caricature styling. I hate that it's an Audi Q5. I hate the name that sounds like a component breaking. BUT the Macan drives well.

If only it look gorgeous and not like a Super Beetle on acid...

I'd love to see what the Shelby Mustang GT350 would have done.

How about comparing the Macan Turbo on the track with any other SUV on the market? Game over.

This comparison is silly - a 4,244 lb SUV is never going to beat a similarly powered 3,500 lb coupe.
